Job Description
As the Officer for Financial Planning and Analysis, you will play a critical role in the growth, financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes of the organization. You will work directly with the company’s CFO to develop and improve the financial planning and analysis for the holding company, as well as its portfolio companies. This position is significantly more than taking orders and doing repetitive tasks. The CFO is a team-oriented executive that works collaboratively alongside his staff and regularly seeks their input and opinions on how to improve the organization. In addition to performing normal FP&A duties such as financial modeling (high skill level required), monthly budget to actual variance analysis, and KPIs, the successful candidate will be involved in:
- The formation of 2 to 3 new businesses each year
- Analyzing opportunities to form these new businesses
- Fundraising for the holding company, portfolio companies and the new businesses
- Preparing quarterly investor updates and annual reports
- Evaluating market dynamics for the sale of portfolio companies
- Working directly with our Director of Accounting in the Philippines

Required/Demonstrated Skills:

Duties / Responsibilities:
- Financial Data Analysis, Interpretation and Planning:
- Work with portfolio companies, looking for ways to improve operations and provide insight to the CEO of that company.
- Utilize analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and scalability of forecasting and reporting tools.
- Provide recommendations based on thorough analysis of financial data, market trends, and industry benchmarks.
- Identify risks and opportunities in various scenarios and present findings to executives.
- Financial Model Development:
- Design, create, and maintain multiple portfolio company budgets, including budget consolidations at the holding company level.
- Design, create, and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate various business scenarios, including budgeting, forecasting, valuation, and strategic planning.
- Analyze and model potential sale/merger opportunities for portfolio companies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, operations, and strategy, to gather relevant data and inputs for the models.
- Valuation and Investment Analysis:
- Perform company and investment valuations using appropriate methodologies (DCF, comparable company analysis, etc.).
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and other investment opportunities by assessing their financial feasibility and potential returns.
- Financial Reporting:
- Work with accounting to maintain a standardized monthly financial report for all portfolio companies that includes budget to variance analysis and KPIs.
- Generate reports and presentations for senior management and executives, summarizing key insights from financial models and analysis.
- Translate complex financial concepts into clear, concise presentations for non-financial stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with industry best practices, financial regulations, and emerging technologies related to financial modeling and analysis.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and usability of financial models.
- Utilize analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and scalability of forecasting and reporting tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are desirable but not required.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling, including advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other financial software.
- Excellent knowledge of FP&A practices and familiarity with expense forecasting and long-range planning.
- M&A and/or fundraising experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Work from home, but must be willing to work night/ graveyard shift.
